Cholesterol People with high blood cholesterol levelsare very exposed to developing heart disease. High cholesterol levels are common to people with ages over 50, people with weight problems, people with gastro-intestinal disorders and people with diabetes. High blood cholesterol levels can be the result of either overproduction of the substance (due to liver dysfunctions) or the inability of the body to eliminate it. However, apart from physiological factors that enable the accumulation of cholesterol inside the organism, there are also many other external factors that contribute to cholesterol build up: inappropriate diet, sedentary lifestyle, smoking and alcohol abuse.

HDL or the high-density lipoprotein cholesterol is commonly known as the good cholesterol. Why is it considered good? It is a good cholesterol mainly for the fact that it contradicts the adverse effects of the bad cholesterol. Thus, the higher the level of your bad cholesterol, the higher the level your HDL cholesterol needs to have in order for it to work effectively against the bad cholesterol.

A cholesterol test can be such a useful tool in your fight against heart disease, it is a wonder more people don't really know how to make sense of one. If you are anxious for a way to predict and prevent a heart attack, your best bet would be a cholesterol test. Cholesterol is a sticky and waxy material that coats the interior of your blood vessels and keeps blood from flowing smoothly along your system. When you go in for a doctor's visit and he tells you that you need to take your cholesterol control plan a little more seriously, pretty often, the advice can go in the one ear and out the other. It's something we're so used to hearing doctors say, that we barely hear it anymore.

Many people understand that diabetes is a dangerous condition. But few people know about diabetes enough to understand what to do to prevent the disease. In fact, what most people don't know about diabetes is that there are two kinds. Type 1 is a disease generally found in childhood and is the more serious of the two. Type 2 diabetes is also called onset diabetes, meaning that it develops in older age, rather than emerge in childhood. Another way to consider this is that Type 1 is pretty indiscriminate, while Type 2 diabetics usually fall victim to a number of risk factors. Had many of them followed certain preventative plans, they might have avoided it altogether. Learning about diabetes risk factors is crucial to a healthier life.

Sugar is often considered a bane in the diet of diabetics simply because this can cause blood glucose levels to rise. But, since sugar is a natural component of the typical diet, and many people want their cake and eat them too, people just can’t do without it. The good thing is sugar substitutes were invented.

Mango There has been a long standing debate whether diabetics could eat chocolates. Maybe there should really be chocolate-related recipes for diabetics. We have to remember that these patients may have been eating chocolates for years before they were diagnosed with the illness and thus might find it quite depriving to say no to chocolates all the time.  Some, on the other hand, may simply want to get a bite or two but couldn't because of this myth.
